Paws Up!

To the Virginia representatives in the House of Delegates and the Senate for unanimously passing HB5, a bill outlawing gas chambers as a way to euthanize companion animals.

This type of euthanasia is dangerous to both people and animals. Operators are often insufficiently trained, and are exposed to dangerous carbon monoxide gas. The cats and dogs are typically crammed into tight spaces with multiple animals while the gas is released.  It could take up to 30 minutes for the animals to die, during which time they suffer greatly.

NHES praises Virginia for a taking a great stride toward ending animal cruelty!
