    Spay Today Logo To Spay: A surgical procedure that sterilizes female animals.

    To Neuter: A surgical procedure that sterilizes male animals.

    To Alter/Sterilize: A surgical procedure that prevents impregnation (spaying/neutering).

    Intact: An animal that has not been altered/sterilized.
