Paws Up!
To the city officials who unanimously voted on banning the selling of animals in pet stores.
How many of you remember the song “How much is that doggy in the window?” Potential pet buyers will not be asking that question for pets anymore in Eastpointe, Michigan due to an ordinance passed by city officials. According to a recent news story, the ordinance will prohibit the selling of kittens, puppies, ferrets, and rabbits in pet stores. This ban may cause discord for the puppy mill breeders in Eastpointe, but it will be a great advantage for the shelter animals who will be showcased in the pet stores instead.
Take Action: City residents contact city hall and show your support of the ban. Non-residents contact your city officials and propose a similar ordinance be passed.
It has come to my attention that Eastpointe, Michigan has BANNED the sale of puppies and other species in their pet stores.
Our city of San Antonio, TX should do the same. Animals for sale are usually obtained through notorious ‘Puppy Mills’ and sick dogs and other animals are sold to unsuspecting customers.
The BEST thing to do is to turn pet stores in SUPPLY STORES only and make ANIMAL SHELTERS the only place where adoption can take place.
Thank You.
GREAT ! Tell me how I can lobby my ciy council to do the same, here in Lynchburg,VA
Eastpoint – Thank You! Ban the sale of innocent animals in stores.
