To Councilman Nic Farley for passing the mandatory animal waste ordinance.Pet Waste Article

How many of you have been taking a relaxing stroll and encountered an animal’s waste? For many, it is an unpleasant experience. How many of you have seen a dog stop to go potty and their human partner carelessly leaves it behind? Cleaning up after your dog is a common courtesy known as “petiquette.” Councilman Nic Farley of Salem, Illinois must know how that feels. On November 3, Farley proposed the mandatory animal waste ordinance which will go into effect this month. According to a recent news article, the ordinance will include horses, dogs, and cats. Fines will be issued to those who decide to look the other way rather than pick up after their animals.
