Animals who serve us as members of the entertainment field often live lives of degradation and deprivation. Whether in the circus ring or the aquarium, on the rodeo circuit or in the bullring, animals who are forced to entertain are considered commodities that can bring big dollars to their owners. To produce champion winners in the entertainment business, many offspring must be born or taken from the wild. In either case, not all become star attractions; so they may be killed shortly after birth or sold to slaughterhouses or roadside zoos. Those who make it to show time are often forced to perform unnatural and dangerous acts so humans can be wowed. Many die as a result of their training, which can be brutal. Few live to the full extent of their species’ normal lifespan. | | And, Action!
