How much do the NHES posters and brochures cost?

Absolutely nothing - our posters and brochures are always free!  You can order hardcopies and/or download the NHES materials for no charge.  "Bread & Butter" donations to help offset the costs of this program service are greatly welcome, but not required.

How do I view the posters and brochures online?

To view our 8 posters and 26 brochures, simply click on the links (titles) in the Related Articles column on the left.

How do I download and print online posters and brochures?                   Back To Top

    To download

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or above installed on your computer to view the materials.   If you don't have Acrobat on your PC, you may download it free at http://www.adobe.com.  Please be patient and allow time for downloading.  PDF files are large and will download in accordance with your internet connection.

    To print

Posters: Easy as the "click of a button"—just select print!  Posters will print at 8.5 x 11" but are also available through mail order at the original size of 11 x 17.5”.

Brochures: Each brochure requires a few steps.

    • Print brochure on the front and back of one 8.5 x 11” sheet of paper
    • Choose the "2-sided" print option when bulk copying on a copy machine
    • Trim the excess paper and fold accordingly

How do I order hardcopy posters and brochures?

Simply email your request to education@nhes.org or call 304-725-0506!

    Please include:

    • Contact Name
    • Organization Name (if applicable)
    • Mailing Address
    • Phone Number
    • Type, titles, and number of each material requested
    • Intended Uses (optional, we’re just curious!)

How much is a typical order (how many can I get)?                               Back To Top

A typical order is 100 brochures/10 posters per title requested.  Larger orders can be accommodated; please include details as necessary in your request.

Can I distribute NHES posters to a large number of school students?

We have found that the best practice for efficiently distributing NHES educational posters to large school audiences is to:

    • Provide classrooms and teachers with the high-quality 11 x 17.5" posters available free through our national office.  These large, glossy posters can be displayed in classrooms, hallways, and other areas of the school where many students will view them throughout the school year.
    • Provide students with the colorful 8 x 11" poster printables available free through online download and print.

How long do orders take to arrive?

Materials often arrive within 1.5 weeks; however, please allow 2 - 3 weeks for shipping/handling.

Does NHES ship internationally?                                                         Back To Top

We will ship our free posters and brochures to anywhere in the world!  Of course, “Bread & Butter” donations to help offset the shipping charges are always appreciated.

Does NHES have a lesson guide for younger audiences?

Yes!  NHES's Guide to Humane Living & Learning will help local animal shelters, teachers and caring individuals teach kindness to animals.

    The Guide includes:

    • 55 Tips for Humane Living
    • Information about Humane Education
    • Sample Lesson Plans
    • Activities for Children Who Want to Help Animals
    • Book Lists for Encouraging Empathy for Animals
    • Additional Resources for Implementing an Effective Program

The Guide is available for just $5 per copy, plus $2.50 shipping & handling.  Please call (304) 725-0506 with your VISA or MasterCard information, or, send a check payable to:

Can you recommend any films or books to supplement my presentations?

Please browse the Focus on Animals free film library program and the NHES recommended reading lists.

Are the NHES materials available in Spanish or other languages?

At this time, NHES materials are only available in English.  If you would like educational materials in another language, please feel free to email education@nhes.org for suggested resources.

Are there copyright restrictions on the posters and brochures?  May I add my organization's name to the materials?

There are no restrictions on using NHES posters and brochures for education, outreach, fundraising, etc.  We simply ask that NHES be credited for the production and distribution of our materials.

Your organization’s name and contact information may be freely added to NHES posters and brochures as long as it does not cover up the NHES name and contact information.

I want to make a donation towards the free materials - how much do you suggest?

As a nonprofit organization, NHES relies solely on individual contributions to help us continue our free education materials program.

To help offset production/shipping costs of our posters and brochures, a suggested "Bread & Butter" donation of .05 cents per brochure and .25 cents per poster is greatly appreciated (please be sure to indicate "For Education Materials" in the comments box).  Donations are not required and any donation within your means is welcome!
