The James P. and Anna. C. Briggs Humane Action Award The National Humane Education Society (NHES) recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to creating a more humane world for animals in their community via individual efforts that earnestly demonstrate NHES’s mission of “fostering a sentiment of kindness to animals in children and adults.” This award is named in honor of Anna C. Briggs, founder of NHES, and her deceased husband, James P. Briggs, who, like Mrs. Briggs continues to do, dedicated his life to decreasing animal suffering through the creation of hands-on animal care facilities and humane education programs. If you would like to nominate an individual that you know of who has taken the necessary action to help animals and thereby encourage others to do the same, please provide us with the name, address, and telephone number of the nominee, and the reason that you are nominating him or her. Please submit your nomination letter, and any supporting material that you may care to include, to: The National Humane Education Society (NHES) The James P. and Anna C.
