Volunteer

Volunteering is an easy and fun way to help animals and ensure that your community members are educated about animal care. Here are a list of ways to get involved by volunteering in your community and with NHES.

Volunteer at your local shelter

Shelters are always looking for dedicated, loving volunteers. Find your local shelter and offer to help out. If you’re in our area you can apply to volunteer at The Briggs Animal Adoption Center!

Spread the word about spay and neuter and make sure to spay and neuter your pets!

Spaying and neutering is one of the best ways to demonstrate how much you care about pets. If you don’t have companion animals, you can spread the word about spaying and neutering. If you do have animals, make sure they have the procedure. NHES operates Spay Today to provide low cost spay and neuter options.

Create a fundraiser to raise money for NHES

Create a personal fundraising page and ask your friends and family to donate to NHES. As an NHES supporter, you can host a bake sale, a car wash or ask for donations instead of birthday gifts. You can set up your own fundraising page for NHES here.

Host a pet food and supplies drive

Shelters like The Briggs Animal Adoption Center are always in need of pet supplies like toys, litter, leashes and food. You can organize a pet food and supply drive in your neighborhood, at your office or at your school. Donations can be made directly to your shelter after the drive. Make sure to contact your local shelter before your event to understand the process for donating and what the shelter needs the most. You can see The Briggs Animal Adoption Center’s list here.
