Founder’s Day 2025

 In celebration of all that our kind supporters have helped us accomplish over the years for animals, we created a special event that takes place around the date that Anna C. Briggs founded The National Humane Education Society (NHES) on September 15, 1948.

We celebrate the mission of fostering kindness to animals in children and adults and spread awareness about our adoption center, Briggs Animal Adoption Center, and spay/neuter program, Spay Today, by hosting family-friendly activities each year.

Mark your calendar to join us for a fun-filled time on Saturday, September 13th from 11am-3pm with a rain date on Sunday, September 14th. Expect raffles, kid’s activities, the anticipated color run at 1 p.m. with a small donation fee (custom t-shirts will be available for purchase), and most importantly meet adoptable dogs and cats.

We have a new activity this year, Founder’s Day Camping Fun. Space is limited so please reserve your spot today!

We are looking forward to next year’s Founder’s Day! Our 78th Annual Founder’s Day celebration will be held on Saturday, September 12th from 10 AM–2 PM, with a rain date of Sunday, September 13th.

We are always seeking amazing vendors and exciting ways to enhance the fun shared by friends, families, and animals.
