Holiday Gift Labels
In 1948, Mrs. Anna C. Briggs founded The National Humane Education Society (NHES) as a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization with a central mission:
“To foster a sentiment of kindness to animals in children and adults, to educate and interest people in the abolishment of vivisection and to promote the development of alternatives to the use of animals as experimental subjects; elimination of
trapping animals; reforms in humane standards for animals used commercially, and slaughter house reforms.”
Today, We Achieve This Mission By:
- Educating the public
Especially children, about all facets of humane education. - Promoting lifesaving alternatives
Providing viable alternatives to the killing of healthy animals, beginning with spaying and neutering. - Caring for homeless animals
Preferably through foster-based programs that nurture the human-animal bond. - Supporting rescue and relief
Strengthening animal rescue and relief efforts through alliance partnerships. - Advocating for animals
Encouraging private companies, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, lawmakers, and other groups to adopt policies and practices that support the humane treatment of animals.

The enclosed NHES holiday gift labels are yours to keep as our way of saying, thank you. Each time you use them, please remember Charlie and all other animals who are feeling true love and companionship, for some it is the first time in their lives, because of you.
Here at NHES, it brings us great joy to know that Charlie now has a loving home—and I hope it brings you great joy to know that your support of NHES has made it possible for Charlie to be Home for the Holidays where she will live out her life in a world filled with love.
