2026 For the Love of Animals Calendar
In 1948, Mrs. Anna C. Briggs founded The National Humane Education Society
(NHES) as a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization with a central mission:
“To foster a sentiment of kindness to animals in children and adults, to educate and interest people in the abolishment of vivisection and to promote the development of alternatives to the use of animals as experimental subjects; elimination of
trapping animals; reforms in humane standards for animals used commercially, and slaughter house reforms.”
Today, We Achieve This Mission By:
- Educating the public
Especially children, about all facets of humane education. - Promoting lifesaving alternatives
Providing viable alternatives to the killing of healthy animals, beginning with spaying and neutering. - Caring for homeless animals
Preferably through foster-based programs that nurture the human-animal bond. - Supporting rescue and relief
Strengthening animal rescue and relief efforts through alliance partnerships. - Advocating for animals
Encouraging private companies, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, lawmakers, and other groups to adopt policies and practices that support the humane treatment of animals.
Our rescue and rehabilitation of each of the animals featured in this calendar
was made possible by you—and other kind-hearted people just like you!
