President’s Ride for the Animals

My sister and I shared a beautiful day commemorating NHES’ 78 years of reducing animal suffering during our President’s Ride for the Animals on August 1, 2026. We began our journey on the scenic C&O Canal Towpath in Williamsport, Maryland, reflecting on the thousands of animals and people whose lives have been touched by your compassion over the past 78 years.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, together we raised nearly $12,000 to help sustain NHES’ life-changing programs, including:

• Helping families spay and neuter their pets to humanely reduce the number of homeless and unwanted animals.
• Inspiring the next generation through humane education, teaching children to become lifelong ambassadors for animals by leading with kindness, compassion, and respect.
• Rescuing and caring for vulnerable animals like sweet Violet, a tiny kitten given a second chance, and beloved Avis, who celebrated her 14th birthday during our ride while surrounded by love and care.

Every mile we rode was inspired by supporters like you. Your generosity gives animals hope, provides families with essential resources, and helps create a future for animals that is full of compassion.
