The BARK Act Would Help Feed Homeless Animals - National Humane Education Society
December 2, 2021
Paws Up!
House Bill 5684 was introduced by Representative Jaime Raskin and 20 other representatives to help feed homeless animals.
Non-profit animal humane societies and rescues throughout the country are constantly battling the never-ending cycle of animal homelessness. Adoption day is a joyous day, but the vacant spot is quickly filled by another animal in need. The day-to-day duties of caring for these sentient creatures can often be a thankless job full of endless cleaning of potty areas, sleeping areas, feeding, bathing, washing dishes, and mounds of laundry. The cost to care for each animal varies depending on their age and health condition. Some animals find a family within days of their arrival, whereas others take longer. While they wait for a forever home, their emotional and physiological needs are met by caring individuals who rely on funding from donors to provide sustenance and veterinary care for these precious animals.
Take Action: Please show your support to help feed homeless animals by contacting your representative about the BARK Act (H.R. 5684) today! Another way you can help homeless animals is by donating to your local animal rescue.
